I was introduced to early choral music as a member of the Choir School at St. Peter’s while growing up in the Charlotte area.
Charlotte, NC – February 4, 2016 – The Firebird Arts Alliance presents the CHARLOTTE PREMIERE of one of western art music’s greatest compositions – Gustav Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde (The Song of the Earth), in Arnold Schoenberg’s brilliant orchestration for 15 players.
CHARLOTTE– A 50-member chorus will join with solo performers to present “HONOR: A Salute to the Armed Forces” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at Sharon Presbyterian Church, 5201 Sharon Road, in Charlotte.

February 2017 -- Charlotte, NC -- On Saturday, April 1st 2017, Director David Tang will lead a rare, semi-staged performance of J.S. Bach’s majestic St. John Passion in the Sharon Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.
My love of Baroque music grew out of a chance encounter as a dance student at the North Carolina School of the Arts.

March, 2017 -- The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra is a period instrument ensemble specializing in 17th- and 18th- century Baroque performance practice.
Charlotte, NC - May 11, 2015 - In what may be a Charlotte premiere, the semi-professional choir VOX will perform the 40-part motet Spem in alium, by British Renaissance composer – Thomas Tallis.
As Firebird Arts Alliance prepares to perform Bach’s St. John Passion, and in light of the recent rise in hate towards Jewish organizations and individuals, I feel a special need to address the question of anti-Semitism in Bach’s oratorio.
